The Largest POTS Trial in History — ACC 2026
The RECOVER-AUTONOMIC trial just demonstrated what TCM has practiced for millennia: reducing heart rate alone doesn't restore quality of life. Whole-person, coordinated care does.
The Trial Result
Ivabradine successfully reduced heart rate — the number your cardiologist measures. But it had no meaningful effect on how patients actually felt or functioned. Only when paired with coordinated whole-person care did quality of life improve.
"Drugs aren't enough. The number improving isn't the same as the person recovering."
Source: RECOVER-AUTONOMIC (NCT06305793) — ACC Late-Breaking Clinical Trials, March 28, 2026. n=181 randomized participants, post-COVID POTS. One trial; full publication pending.
"Treat both the Branch and the Root."
The Branch (标) is your racing heart — the number on the monitor. The Root (本) is the whole-system failure driving it: autonomic dysregulation, blood volume depletion, vascular collapse, depleted Qi. TCM has named this principle for two millennia. The RECOVER trial just rendered it as a p-value.
Who This Is For
The trial validated what POTS patients have been saying for years.
"My doctor says my heart rate looks better. But I still can't stand for 10 minutes."
The trial confirmed it: fixing the number isn't the same as fixing the person. You need what the drug arm was missing.
"My cardiologist diagnosed me with POTS and gave me a prescription. I left the office not knowing what to do next."
There's an entire framework for POTS recovery. The science just confirmed it works. You don't have to navigate this alone.
"I've done everything. Salt, compression, beta-blockers, ivabradine. I'm still not functional."
POTS is not one condition. TCM sees five distinct patterns — each with a different treatment. Which pattern are you?
From Diana
POTS is not an abstraction for me. I've had POTS for years — my own diagnosis came after a period of unexplained crashes and a string of doctors who called it anxiety. That experience of not being believed, and then slowly figuring out the Root, is built into everything at LCL.
What conventional medicine kept missing was the pattern underneath the pattern. Every POTS patient who came to me carried the same diagnosis. But they were five completely different people: one running on empty Qi, one with Blood deficiency unable to nourish the Heart, one with Kidney Yang collapse driving every dysautonomic symptom. Same diagnosis. Completely different treatments.
When I started pattern-matching POTS instead of treating dysautonomia as a single entity, the clinical direction shifted. Not overnight — but toward recovery, not just management.
That's what LCL is built on. Not the hope that one protocol fits everyone. But the certainty that your pattern matters — and that when you treat the right pattern, your body knows what to do.
The most common thing I see in LCL members with POTS: they arrive exhausted from being treated like a symptom.
Tachycardia is not a condition. It's a signal from somewhere deeper. When we find that source — whether it's Qi Sinking, Kidney Yang deficiency, or Blood that isn't reaching the Heart — and treat that pattern specifically, the tachycardia often calms as a side effect of the body coming back into balance.
One member came to me after three years on a beta-blocker that stabilized her numbers on paper and left her unable to stand long enough to cook dinner. Six months into working her Root pattern, she tapered off the medication and went back to full-time work.
What I'm tracking now: whether coordinated care + pattern differentiation produces results the RECOVER trial couldn't test. Early signal says yes. More to come.
Pattern Differentiation
The RECOVER trial treated all POTS patients identically. LCL doesn't. Your pattern determines your herbs, your dietary guidance, your movement practice, and your pacing strategy. Getting pattern-matched changes everything.
What LCL Provides
The RECOVER trial's coordinated care protocol is the most rigorous POTS support protocol ever validated. LCL starts there — and goes significantly deeper.
| Component | Trial's Coordinated Care | LCL's Approach |
|---|---|---|
| Salt & fluids | High salt diet (6–10g/day), ≥2L fluid/day | ✓ Salt + TCM dietary guidance: why fluids are depleted, matched to your constitution. TCM dietary approach: warming congee and broths that nourish AND hydrate, matched to your constitution. |
| Compression | Abdominal binder | ✓ Compression + Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang addresses the Root — why clear Yang can't rise. The binder treats the Branch; the formula treats the Root. |
| Movement | Generic exercise rehabilitation | ✓ Pattern-matched Dao Yin (导引). Never push past energy envelope. Recumbent-first for Qi Sinking. Qigong matched to your pattern. PEM prevention built in. |
| Monitoring | Weekly HR and BP monitoring | ✓ Weekly pattern monitoring — tongue, pulse, crash patterns, energy windows. Pattern evolution is far more predictive than BP/HR numbers alone. |
| Coaching | Care coordinator calls | ✓ Diana reads every check-in. Dragon AI personalizes every recommendation. This isn't a coordinator — it's a practitioner relationship. |
| Pattern differentiation | Not provided (all patients treated identically) | LCL only — 5 distinct POTS patterns, each with individualized herbs, dietary guidance, and movement practice. |
| Herbal medicine | Not included | LCL only — Personalized herbal formulas matched to your pattern. Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang for Qi Sinking. Sheng Mai San for Qi-Yin. Formula evolves as your pattern shifts. |
| AI tracking | Not included | LCL only — Dragon AI tracks your pattern evolution across weeks and months, catching pattern shifts before they become crashes. |
The LCL Membership
LCL is a practitioner-led membership that provides everything the RECOVER trial's coordinated care included — plus the pattern differentiation the trial couldn't provide.

The intake questionnaire identifies your TCM pattern and gives you a personalized starting point — before you commit to anything.
No commitment required to complete the questionnaire. LCL membership is designed for POTS patients who want whole-person care alongside their medical treatment — not instead of it.
